To test the demand and feasibility of the business model behind this product, I launched a one-year trial operation. Using the network I had built, I created two WeChat groups under the alliance’s name—one for student organizations and one for businesses.
Both sides could connect through me to post or accept sponsorship opportunities in the opposite group. The only cost? A bit of promotion for me on their social media accounts.
After two years of experience, I had built a solid network and reputation within Shenzhen's international education industry. In April 2020, I officially left EIC and founded Haoyue Link, a platform designed to connect student organizations with businesses for partnership opportunities.
The Alliance’s Group A and Group B
As word spread, the alliance quickly gained traction, and the number of participating businesses and student organizations grew rapidly. Within six months, over 30 student clubs from more than 10 schools and multiple local businesses had signed up to join the platform.
By the end of the one-year trial period, hundreds of sponsorship opportunities had been posted in the groups. Dozens of student events, ranging in size from a few dozen to several hundred participants, successfully secured resources and funding, allowing them to take place.
Sensing that the timing was right, I began contemplating the next steps to further develop the platform.
